Six is a resourceful little girl who uses her wit to outsmart and escape the many horrors of The Maw. The small gnomes dotted throughout the game are often a helping hand to Six, but sometimes run away in fear. Six suffers from a strange, debilitating hunger that stops her in her tracks at various moments in the game. Near the game's climax, a gnome attempts to give Six some bread, but Six devours the gnome instead. This gnome is later revealed to be The Runaway Kid, whom players control in the DLC, Secrets of the Maw. The Runaway kid has an encounter with The Lady and is transformed into a gnome just moments before Six's arrival.
